A little girl came through the front gate holdin' a fishing pole His dad looked down and smiled, said we can't leave her behind Son I know you don't want her to go but someday you'll change your mind And Johnny said Take Jimmy Johnson, take Tommy Thompson, take my best friend Bo Take anybody that you want as long as she don't go Take any boy in the world Daddy please don't take the girl Same old boy Same sweet girl Ten years down the road He held her tight and kissed her lips
~Dream~
Natalie was shaking hard, she was deathly afraid of storms. The thunder shook the house; she heard a crash and a scream from down the hall. Jasper! Get the kids! She started to cry as her daddy came running into the room. He scooped up her brothers and sisters but didn’t come right back for her. DADDY! He came running in shortly after and picked her up. He carried her over the broken glass that was shattered all over the floor. The big mirror that her mom kept in the hallway had fallen and shattered when the thunder hit. She rested her head on his shoulder and sucked her thumb as she cried.
~End Dream~
DADDY! Her daddy came running in. What’s wrong baby girl? He asked as he scooped her up and she rested her head on his shoulder. Natalie sucked her thumb as Jasper carried her down to the couch. He laid down with her on his chest. Are you gonna tell me what’s wrong sweetie? Storm…dere was a big storm…you took da odder babies, but not me. Baby, it was just a nightmare, I would never do that. She nodded and sniffled, he started to rub her back and to hum to her. She was trying not to fall asleep but she knew that she had to. Daddy I’m scared. I know baby, I won’t let it get you. I promise. She nodded. Daddy? What baby girl? She closed her eyes, Can we do sompen tomorrow? Jus da two of us… He kissed her head, Sure baby, whatever you wanna do. She smiled and fell asleep on her daddy’s chest.

Trying to find the magic Trying to write a classic Don't you know, don't you know, don't you know? Waste-bin full of paper Clever rhymes, see you later These words are my own From my heart flow I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you There's no other way To better say I love you, I love you...
Jazz had been up getting a drink of water, it had just stopped storming but something was weird with the kids. He could tell that some of them were shaken up. It was just basically the girls, not most boys. He walked up the stairs and past every kids door to check if they were all asleep. Alice was sound asleep in their room. He got to Nat’s room and the door was slightly open, that was weird. She usually had it shut tight, he shut it but then Natalie screamed. He ran in worried, What’s wrong baby girl? He scooped her up to comfort her more easily and she sucked her thumb. She was on his chest, most kids liked sleeping there on him. Are you gonna tell me what’s wrong sweetie? Storm…dere was a big storm…you took da odder babies, but not me. Baby it was just a nightmare. I would never do that. You’re special to me and I could never just leave you. She nodded and sniffled as he rubbed her back and hummed. He could tell she was tired but she asked him if they could do something together. No other kids had ever asked that, Sure baby, whatever you wanna do. She fell asleep smiling on his chest.
Jazz covered her up and decided she could just sleep on him tonight. Around 3am he woke up and found Alice walking down the hall. She came over to them and kissed Natalie’s head. She ok? She had a nightmare. I handled it. Natalie snuggled in closer to his neck and he stood up with her against him. No alone. Shh, daddy’s got you. He walked back to the master bedroom and let her curl up into his side instead of on his chest. Alice laid her head on his chest as she lay on the other side of him. He put his arm around each of them and had both his girls where he liked them, close.
Natalie woke up and was bouncing on the bed. Hi baby, all better now? She nodded and smiled as she landed on top of him. Oof, morning too you too. Alice was rolled over so she wasn’t squished by their daughter. Come on, let’s not wake up momma. He carried her out and down the stairs. We go fishin? Jazz smiled and poured her cereal, Anythin you want darlin’. She giggled at his accent, just Alice and Nat liked it. He gave her the bowl and checked the baby monitor for Claire’s room. She was still pretty little and he could tell she was gonna wake up. You keep eating, mommy will be down in a minute, I gotta go get Claire bear. She nodded and hummed as he ran up the stairs. Alice caught him as he was going up, She downstairs and up? Yea, Claire’s waking up. I’ll be down in a minute. Oh and by the way you need to call Jacks and Angel to help babysit, I’m takin Nat fishing today. He kissed her and ran to get his crying daughter. When they both emerged Alice was putting up Nat’s hair in her normal style, braids.

Come on, lets not wake up momma. He held onto her and carried her out and down the stairs. We go fishin? He smiled down at her and poured her cereal. Anythin you want darlin’. She loved his accent so she started to giggle. He handed her the bowl and said that her mommy would be down with her soon. He went up the stairs to get her little baby sister. You feeling better sweetheart? Yeah momma. Daddy make it aww bettaw. She smiled and kissed Natalie’s forehead. Natalie smiled and finished eating her breakfast. Her mom helped her off of the counter. She ran into the living room; none of the other kids were up besides Claire, but her daddy was taking care of that. It was really early in the morning but Natalie was wide awake. Braids momma? She asked looking up at her mom with her big brown eyes. Alice pulled her into her lap and started to brush her hair. Braids braids braids. She said as she bounced up and down in Alice’s lap. Baby, you can’t do that if you want momma to do your hair. Natalie nodded and stopped bouncing.
Alice put her hair up in the pigtails and then braided them. Fank you momma. She said as she stood up and kissed her mom’s cheek. Alice nodded and Jasper came down with Claire. Daddy, when we goin fishin? We’ll leave when you get dressed. She nodded and took Alice’s hand, Come on momma! She dragged her mom upstairs and to her room. Are you excited to spend time with daddy? Natalie nodded quickly and started to take off her shirt by herself…until she got stuck in it. Momma! Help me pweese. Alice laughed at her quietly but helped slip her shirt over her head. There you go sweetie. Alice picked out an outfit that she could fish in and helped her get dressed. She kissed her mom’s cheek and ran down stairs. Fank you momma! She yelled as she ran into Jasper’s legs. Did you tell mommy bye? Natalie shook her head ‘no’; then he set her down. Natalie ran over by Alice again and hugged her legs. Bye momma, I wove you. She said as Alice got down to her level and kissed her head; Natalie kissed her mom’s cheek. Time for a great day with her daddy.

Natalie was ecstatic about fishing, he thought she just wanted alone time with him. She ran up the stairs pulling Alice with her, most kids would try to dress themselves but Nat knew better; if Ali didn’t like the outfit she’d make her change. Better to take momma with you and get it right the first time. He had just finished feeding Claire when Natalie ran down the stairs. Did you tell mommy bye? He asked as he set her back down. She shook her head no and ran to hug Alice’s legs. He watched as they exchanged their goodbyes. Now we go? Pweeseeeeeeeee! He laughed lightly, Go get in the car and I’ll be right out. She ran to the car and climbed in; she could buckle herself into the car seat. He turned back to Alice and wrapped his arms around her, I’ll have my phone if you need anything. She nodded and stretched up to kiss him gently, Have a good time. He smiled, You too. Tell them I said to behave. I love you. Love you too. Daddy come onnnnnnnnn! He laughed and kissed her once more before heading out to the car.
Jazz buckled himself in and pulled out of the garage. So squirt you ready for a day with daddy? She smiled at him in the mirror, All mine. He laughed and nodded as he drove the 30 minutes to the lake. They already had fishing stuff in the back so it was all good. Natalie unbuckled herself and he carried her to get all the fishing stuff. He had a little surprise for her that was in between the seats so she couldn’t see it. Ok you get the little one. She smiled and took her tiny fishing pole as he took his. He set her down and grabbed the surprise along with the container of worms and hooks and all that stuff.
This way sweetie. She held his hand as they walked to a grassy spot by the water. He set down a blanket and she sat down, Are the fishies asleep daddy? They’re waking up right now. That’s when we catch them. She nodded after thinking about it a little. He opened the worm container and took one out. It’s all squiggly! He laughed as he put it on her hook, Yea that’s cause it doesn’t wanna go for a swim. Are their any that do wanna swim? He shook his head no and handed her the pole back. How I do it? He moved so he was behind her, Ok stand up. She stood in front of him and he put his arms around her. Ok first you come back like this, he demonstrated, Then when you bring it back faster you push this little button and it’ll go out to the water. Then we wait for a fishy to bite it. She did just as he said and it went right into the middle of the water. The little bobber floated on the water and she sat down as they waited. He kissed her head, You like it just you and me? She nodded, No babies to cry, nobody to steal you away. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close, All you have to do is ask and we’ll find a way for you to have some alone time with us. She looked up at him with those big brown eyes, Really? He kissed her nose, Really. We love you kids more than anything in the world. Would you like a day with just mommy next? She thought about it for a minute, No shopping. He had to laugh; most of the kids didn’t like shopping with mom…just plain and simple. No shopping, he agreed. She yawned and then the bobber went under water. I think you got one. She stood up and started to reel it in. He got on his knees behind her and helped her bring it in slowly. Daddy I got one! He smiled as she had a little fish on the end of her line. Wanna keep it? She thought about it for a little bit.
